4.15.2009SHOCKING news: As reported by Michael Bay, a recent screening of the new Michael Bay movie which included Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay went great!
Not only did the director of Crystal Skull find Michael Bay’s movie to be “awesome”, but in Michael Bay’s opinion, Spielberg might even feel that the movie is perhaps Michael Bay’s best. Awesome news for Michael Bay fans of Michael Bay movies! (2)
3.25.2009Oh I do so love this mash-up.
As the swell folks at Film School Rejects wisely point out, it’s a far better effort than simply matching audio from Movie A to the trailer of Movie B. The creator here truly puts feeling and meaning to this, draws parallels between the movies’ themes, is drawing a compelling analogy, etc. What a terrific piece. (0)
3.12.2009Via Twitter, Sony Pictures has set May 6, 2011 as a release date for Spider-Man 4. So now that the Watchmen complaining is officially over, we can start fresh on Spidey-Bemoaning: Lizard vs. Kraven, kill off or don’t kill off Mary Jane, heart or hate Sam Raimi, and so on…

2.5.2009There seem to be few limitations on the heights of inspiration found at Robot Chicken.

Found your blog today from a link from “Word Demon.” From the moment I saw your title, “Burbanked,” I was hooked. Living in L.A. (okay, fine, N. Hollywood…) I totally “got” it immediately.
The film industry is alluring, but as a BTL crew member, with some decent credits even(!), it’s still a tough road and the writer’s strike is driving me batty!!! My boyfriend, a storyboard artist, worked 3 days last month and my “day job” is as a talent manager’s asst. and with NO ROLES there isn’t much to “manage” and I’m bored as heck, but still paying the bills and blogging. Thanks for the added entertainment; Keep it up!

Congrats, Kendra! You’re roughly the 5,472nd visitor to this page and the 1st to comment.
If I had a prize of any worth whatsoever, it’d be yours. Instead I’ll offer my gratitude and welcome.

Alan-
Thank you for your kind words about Hollywoodent. As it was only my third blog post it feels good to have someone enjoy it, I only hope I can continue to forge my voice and say something interesting.
I must reiterate how much I enjoy Burbanked and should tell you that I am no longer confused at the homepage (if I am not mistaken some of the features were condensed into two columns rather than three). I have no real clue why I picture you a banker, but I suspect “corporate drone” inspires images of bispectacled coin counters.
I’d like to be first to formally pose: Why is your blog called Burbanked?
Thanks again, good luck.

Hollyoodent: I don’t really have a formal reply to your query, but instead I’d direct you to the rambling preamble of this post here.
