Get your Bond on with the new Casino Royale trailer.

will the franchise be shaken or stirred?

Head over to Moviefone for a look at the new, longer Casino Royale trailer, which is chock full-o-Bondian goodness (found late last night via Film Junk).

There will be speculation as to Daniel Craig’s suitability as Bond from now until Ian Fleming rises from the grave and feasts on the brains of Timothy Dalton, but the fact is that whoever is cutting these Bond trailers is really earning their paycheck. The teaser was excellent and this piece is a terrific marketing tool for the movie – it shows us a lot but doesn’t give too much away; it tells us the story but leaves us wanting more; and the music is used exactly the right way. It builds throughout, leading us through the action scenes with a nicely building sense of pace.

But of course the trailers are always great for the Bond films. The music is always that good and the trailers rarely hint at how ridiculous the storyline will be, especially as evidenced in the last few installments. One hopes, because Casino is being sold as a reboot – Bond’s beginnings – that the plot and character development will be renewed as well.

It’s good to hope, right? Hope is a good thing. MGM/UA releases Casino Royale wide on November 17.
