There’s a great movie poll today at the excellent Awards Daily blog soliciting readers’ votes as to the 5 Most Anticipated Movies for the remainder of 2007. In a rare and wondrous alignment of the planets this past weekend, I got out to the movies to see an actual first-run-in-the- theater film.

Of course the big news yesterday was the release of a new trailer for the extra-big summer extravaganza movie Transformers. Sure to put the Geekformers into a weekend-long bleary-eyed tizzy, the trailer is appropriately quick-cut, stirringly scored and has some very delightful action beats.
