Jason Reitman shows us the joys, trials and steak plates of a movie junket tour.

I haven’t seen Up In the Air yet – and I’m starting to feel fairly desperate to do so – but I saw this video the other day at roughly 8900 websites and wanted to include it here.
This is a terrifically cool piece that director Jason Reitman put together following the press junket tour for his movie. Essentially it’s just a fast-paced look at the bizarre press rituals filmmakers go through to promote their films. I love these kinds of behind-the-scenes bits, especially when we get to see them during the film’s theatrical run. What exactly did we do before we were blessed with internet to give us these wonderful goodies?
Enjoy:

Love it and him! Although, I almost had a seizure watching it.

It was probably featured on 8,900 websites because it shows every single web owner that interviewed him in the last few months. Those film site geeks just love to see themselves as part of the big Hollywood machine!
I noticed we weren’t in there, though. Sigh …

D. Prince: yep, it’s fast-cut, but the music works and it rewards repeat viewing.
Ray: …and Reitman pretty much knows that this video guarantees him more exposure on those sites, doesn’t he? It’s a powerful piece in that it shows off his talents and simply markets the film all in one little package. Clever.
We’re not “outside the big Hollywood machine”. We’re “rebels fighting the good fight”.
duggie p: I know a place where you can get a delightful steak plate!
