How is it that I’ve gotten to the ripe-old blogging age of four without knowing about MOVIECLIPS.com?

By the blue skin of Jake Sully’s monkey-cat tail, I had no idea this site existed. On movieclips.com, you can find great-quality, embed-able movie clips searchable by title, actor, genre and even setting and prop! Wow. Just…wow. I hate spending a boatload of time making my own clips, especially when YouTube then decides that I don’t “own” them or something. (found via fellow Pittsburgher @woycheck)

Here’s a Christmas favorite:

And here’s just because, you know. It’s Dirty Harry.

I’ve been loving the movieclips site. Finally! I hope you and your family have a fantastic Christmas. 2009 wasn’t much of a blogging year for me, hope to get more into it in 2010.

    Cheers!

You didn’t know about this site four years ago because it wasn’t around four years ago.

Personally, I’m amazed that they (a) had enough money to launch this thing since their average age appears to be around 12 years aold, and (b) managed to make this site without getting sued left and right by the stockbrokers running Hollywood.

D.Prince: I know that feeling. I’m trying to get back into the habit myself. We’ll see what the new year brings.

Ray: Yeah, the suing thing made me wonder as well – but the presence of “buy now” links on the clips suggests that the studios are perhaps making some money on these.
