Introducing the NEW Burbanked Action Figure Mood Indicator!

alfred molina action figure, ladies and gentlemen!Just thought I’d draw your attention to a new sidebar feature here at Burbanked: the Action Figure Mood Indicator! in which your favorite movie stars, forever immortalized in China-manufactured plastic, convey to you their true thoughts, feelings, dreams and aspirations.

Is it useless and pointless? Is it more fun than a barrel of monkeys hopped up on goofballs? Did it take me way more time to create than I could ever expect to have returned on any scale?

Yes. Yes. And yes.

If you hadn’t noticed, the action figure images are supposed to refresh with each new page you visit. Please let me know in the comments:

  • If the images are stuck and aren’t refreshing
  • Which of the action figures is your very favorite
  • If this is the dumbest thing you’ve ever seen

Thanks. Enjoy!

Thanks, Ray – and if you feel like you’ve cycled through all the current action figures, don’t worry: I’ve got a few more lined up and a whole bunch more planned.

Finally I’ve got a good reason to want to go to flea markets with my wife!

This was a cool idea, Alan. I understand that action figure collectibles are popular with a certain male demographic. I wouldn’t know anything about that …

I think your mood indicator would be just fine with a different action figure each day; you almost don’t need the editorial content. Stating you’re in a Wolverine mood tells us all we need to know!

Love this. How do you do it?

Which part did you mean, Megan:

Scouring flea markets like a man obsessed trying to find obscure, movie-based action figures for under $2?

Photographing them with a not-impressive command of focus, depth of field, background, shading, lighting, or aesthetic?

Or were you referring to my childlike Photoshop skills?

Whichever your question, I appreciate the compliment!
