Womb to Tomb – we’re all in this together.

Yesterday Matt at the ever-delightful Culture kills… wait, I mean cutlery. blog featured a unique take on the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon bit in which he linked about 16 celebrities together, mostly by virtue of them having the same birthday. Nicely done!

And because one good blog-turn deserves another – even though I have no idea what it is that I just typed there – I figured that this would be a swell opportunity to once again explore the tenuous bonds of obscurely-connected celebrities who have entered and shuffled off this planet on! the same! day!

studly...and petulant! what a range! On this day, July 27th, Julian McMahon was born. After shopping his rugged wares around the soap opera and one-off sitcom circuit for a decade or so, McMahon has enjoyed a pretty decent career boost of late, primarily due to high-profile roles in the FX just-smutty-enough- for-cable show Nip/Tuck and his mediocre but fortunate turns as Dr. Doom in the Fantastic Four flicks.

  • But way back when, McMahon strutted the beefcake in Wet and Wild Summer! alongside a likely cashflow-suffering Elliott Gould.

thanks for the...you knowGould, in addition to acting in every movie ever made, also appeared in The Muppet Movie, which – fortunately for my efforts here – features cameo appearances by everyone, including Bob Hope. Hope – who I once walked past in a bank parking lot in Burbank, thinking he was just some little old man who had the gall to not walk fast enough for the likes of me – passed away at the age of 100 on this day, July 27th.

Thanks again to Matt for the inspiration!
