It’s quite possible that Javier Bardem is the last thing you’ll see before you die.

Damn, but I love those Coen brothers!
Anne Thompson at Variety provides an exclusive preview trailer for the upcoming Coen brothers film No Country For Old Men, and this just looks like a whole barrel of effed-up fun, just like we’ve come to expect from Ethan and Joel.
Just listen to the crackling dialogue in this trailer; it’s truly something to take your breath away. “He’s dangerous.” “As compared to what, bubonic plague…?”
And let me just say that if the Coens can make an actor out of Woody Harrelson again, I may just have to turn in my Film Curmudgeon membership (Founding Father Level) card. Here’s the clip from Variety’s rather nifty video site:
Here’s the direct link to the clip Variety’s nifty video site, because they removed the video from being able to be embedded. Boo!
No Country For Old Men is scheduled for release in November from Paramount Vantage.

I’m a bit confused (more than usual). Didn’t Tommy Lee Jones decide years ago never to appear in another good movie?

Sulu: Hm. Seems to me that might have been right after he won an Oscar…

Hmmmm … looks pretty good, more intense than most of their films.
However, you really shouldn’t be bad mouthing Woody Harrelson, Alan. The guy was absolutely brilliant in “Kingpin.” Yes, I’m being serious.

Ray: As loathe as I am to even slightly disagree with you, I’ll just say the following:

I saw Woody Harrelson and Sean Penn in a production of Sam Shepard’s play The Late Henry Moss. Woody was amazing and he kept pace with Penn.
He can do great things when he has great directors.

I thought the people vs. Larry Flynt was pretty good… I mean, I believed him as a scuzzy, drugged up porn pedler who likes to make a spectacle of himself.
