There’s a very good reason that I’m not the Batman.

Because if I saw this freakshow waiting to tangle with me, I would absolutely not mess with it. In fact, I’m thinking that I would kind of sit down on the curb and look the other way as if I’d never seen it and just hope it passed me by. And there might be some terrified weeping involved.
I first saw this image of Heath Ledger as he’ll likely look in next year’s Batman sequel The Dark Knight at Piper’s Lazy Eye Theatre blog. Apparently Warner Bros. has created a viral site for the movie called ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com in which a Harvey Dent campaign poster gets e-vandalized until it pixelates into this picture of the Joker. It’s a terrific, subtle piece of marketing and Warner Bros. deserves a lot of credit for generating Internet buzz - especially after the brouhaha just a month ago when fake Joker pictures were getting posted left and right.
There was a lot of Ledger-backlash last August when it was announced that he’d be playing the Joker, but I was hopeful that director/co-writer Christopher Nolan would give us something we hadn’t seen before - a less scene-chewing, more real-world Joker that was nasty and creepy and fear-inducing instead of being a costumed caricature.
Looks like that’s exactly what we’ll be getting. The Dark Knight is scheduled for release in July of 2008.

Dedicated screenwriting 101 here: From an interview with Harrison Ford on the MTV Movies Blog in which the inevitability of another Indiana Jones movie is mentioned:
How do I get out of this? I love going to the movies with my boys, opening up their minds to the great pleasures of cinema and all that, but this is a hard one. Please help me: do I suck it up and just go, or can anyone out there provide me with a plausible, kind-hearted, permanent way out? (

So where’d you get the better picture? I didn’t do too much hunting for it.
I think it’s very cool. Like I said on my post, they did it up right in ditching most of the make-up and making it more scar. It’s creepy as shit.
Kudos really to the blog I don’t like Renee Zellwegger for turning me on to it.

Yeah, that makes him look even more crazy.

I just went back to ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com, Piper - wait ’til the picture un-pixelates and you’re off to Creepy Town.

It’s the same picture right?
I just went to the site and it said page not found.
Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Yes, the plot thickens. Comics2Film suggested earlier today that the picture could be a hoax because the URL was not registered by Warner Bros. - so maybe the studio jumped on this and had the site owners take it down.
