Wow! Here’s the new Live Free or Die Hard teaser!

Chud.com has your first outside-the-movie-theater look at the Live Free or Die Hard teaser that’s supposed to run this weekend in front of Eragon or some other such. Enough talk - start the blowing-shit-up part!(click the picture or here)

This is clearly an early teaser with temporary special effects and not much meat on the bone, but it does have a whole lot of Big Action Beats fast-cut to a thundering orchestral score - which is not necessarily a bad thing.

As one of this franchise’s biggest fans, I’ll say that this clip does get my blood going a bit - but I’ll wait a little longer before I get my hopes up. It’s certainly possible for this installment to go way off the rails, quality- and story-wise, but still it’s a kick to be able see this coming.

UPDATED: FirstShowing.net is running the LFODH teaser, too, with the very very best Transformers smackdown I’ve read anywhere outside my own ranting pages. I admire Alex’s taste as well as his choice of teaser screenshots.

11.20.2008Dedicated screenwriting 101 here: From an interview with Harrison Ford on the MTV Movies Blog in which the inevitability of another Indiana Jones movie is mentioned:
MTV: Is the ball in George’s court at this point? Ford: It is. That’s the process. With some general input he goes off and searches for the MacGuffin and then stumbles into a story. And at some point we have a chance to take a look at and give some input.
Now granted this is Ford’s opinion of Lucas’ “creative process”, yet still: when one of the three principals of the Indiana Jones legacy classifies the story creation process as a haphazard, one-man effort that only superficially seeks outside input, it’s hard not to feel frustrated. Not surprised, just frustrated. Dear Mr. Spielberg: please put your foot down and either demand a coherent story or walk away. Just do us all a favor, could you? Maybe? (found via FilmDrunk)
