On the 5th Day of Halloween, some animated short films of pure evil.

Found a handful of these over the last week or so, and my mom always taught me to share, even when it meant sharing things dripping with the stench of filthy, rotting wickedness. Okay, they might not be quite that bad. But they’re unsettling; a few are bit graphic; perhaps NSFW; and all – in their own way – quite amusing. Click the links or the pictures to watch ‘em.

Today’s first short is called Rabbit and it features a pair of rotten, selfish little kids, some innocent furry little animals and a handful of bladed weapons. Soldier through the whole thing and you might get rewarded with a moral. Or something. (found via Table of Malcontents)

Nobo is a nicely-realized piece of CG storytelling with a little bit of Blade Runner and Brazil. I was thinking that it might go somewhere else in the end, but it’s still worth a viewing. Probably the least evil film out of our little festival today.

Why do games like The Sims and Rollercoaster Tycoon hold such wide appeal? I think it’s because there are very good reasons that they don’t let actual sociopaths design rollercoasters. Of course, there are fewer moral quandries in laying waste to virtual humans, but really their virtual screams of misery and woe should still haunt your dreams. If not, good for you! Go take a look at Bowling + Rollercoaster = Fun!

This next one is simply titled Creepy Claymation, and it really requires very little introduction beyond that. Who are these people making these, anyway? This kind of thing sure makes me look back at my pitiful junior high school 8mm film projects with a fresh degree of loathing.

If you’re going to malign one of our planet’s most noble and giving creatures by titling your short film Cows are Evil, you’d damn well better back it up with something impressive. Take a look at this piece of unpleasantly violent paybackery and reconsider ordering McNuggets the next time the opportunity presents itself.

While it’s not an animated short, I’ll still include this nifty Flash illusion here because I’m pretty sure that there’s evil going on. An odd, mesmerizing bit of Webby illusionary strangeness that is simple yet compelling.

In Frightride, a pair of simple God-fearing folks learn that there are a few other things on Earth that might be a bit scarier.

And why would I consider this “evil”? Because once you watch it, you’ll have that song in your head for another TWO WEEKS. BWA HAHA HA HAHA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAH!
