Not that long ago in a grocery store not all that far away…

Way back in July, we alerted you to the first installment of Chad Vader - Day Shift Manager which tells the tale of Darth’s younger and much less threatening brother Chad as he toils in obscurity in middle management of an oddball-filled grocery store. At the time we referred to the viral video as “a great bit with some very funny moments, but doesn’t quite know how to end”.
Hey, it’s great to be wrong sometimes.
Chad Vader is about to release its fourth installment - on Good Morning America of all the kooky places - tomorrow morning, and the series has developed into a delightfully guilty pleasure. It’s funny, well-shot, it leads nicely from one episode to the next and the performers all seem fully committed to making it as mock-seriously as possible.
And the Vader characterization, as noted previously, is really quite inspired.
If you haven’t already, go watch episodes 1-3, as well as some additional content. And keep an eye out tomorrow on GMA and online for episode 4.

because clearly Cage has decided to become action/thriller cinema’s first Polish great-grandma. (
Well, that’s too bad. Back a year or so ago when I heard that they’d be making a movie out of Judi and Ron Barrett’s terrific kids’ book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, I hoped maybe it’d be made live-action. Handled well, the idea of seeing an actual town where it rained hotdogs and baked beans in an open-roof restaurant, as well as the bit where sanitation trucks clean up all the leftover rain/snow/food and feed it to the pets would be, I thought, a bundle of CG-imbued cinema fun.
