Why? Because asparagus is good for you, that’s why.

And because the following is just a fun, silly little nugget of film delightfulness:

PILLOW!Spare Us Asparagus is an entry in this year’s 48-Hour Film Project San Francisco contest in which local filmmakers are challenged with writing, shooting, editing and scoring a short film within a span of 48 hours given nothing but a genre, prop, character name and a single line of dialogue.

For my money, the above entry is absolutely the best asparagus-themed story featuring a bald man-child with a beard ever committed to film. Ever.

CORRECTED: Some of the teammembers who produced Asparagus won awards in last year’s Film Project. They are part of a group of multimedia misfits called FreeDirt Media, and they have a nifty site here.
