The videogame version of Heat will have a secret code to unlock Pacino’s volume control.

GIVE ME WHAT YOU GOTIt looks like Michael Mann’s superb 1995 action-heist film Heat will be headed to a PC and X-Box near you, according to a recent Reuters report. Negotiations are ongoing to secure participation by the film’s principals Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Val Kilmer.

The game will allow players to either create and execute high-stakes robberies, or track down the criminals while playing as a law enforcement team. Depending on De Niro’s involvement in the game’s development, there are also plans for his “Neil McCauley” character to appear:

“The game will either be a prequel or a sequel to the film…If it is a sequel, De Niro will appear in flashback since his bank robber character was killed in the film.”

We think that this is a great idea, but why stop there? Some additional storyline ideas, after the jump.

Here’s how to create the optimal Heat movie-to-game transfer:

  • Make the Danny Trejo character – who also gets killed in the film – into a level-ending boss. Oh, and he’s a zombie.
  • Create a mission level in which the heist crew has to rescue Tom Sizemore from a downward spiral of drugs, prostitutes and homemade porn. They don’t succeed.
  • Include Amy Brenneman’s “Eady” character, but make it so that no matter what buttons you press, she makes the worst possible personal decisions.
  • Instead of a Pacino-De Niro shootout at the end of the game, make it more like a Mortal Kombat “Fatality” showdown:
