South Park gets the last Chef laugh – and then some.

Just a few days ago, we speculated that the creators of South Park might choose to retire their beloved Chef character in some kind of not-so-beloved way, following Isaac Hayes’ very publicized exit from the show under the little-known “Intolerance of anti-Scientology Religious Intolerance” clause of his contract.

Well, the “Return of Chef” episode aired last night, and the Death of Chef has been lovingly captured by the folks at YouTube.com. Not to spoil the clip or anything, but Chef meets his end via:

• Being set on fire from a lightning strike
• Falling from a burning bridge onto jagged rocks
• Impalement through the belly
• Being set upon and torn to bits by a mountain lion and bear, the flesh ripped from his carcass
• Upon which, another character says “Pity; he would have made an excellent child molester.”
• …and then he soils himself

Whew! What a relief to be wrong – we thought it was going to be offensive!
